To The Editor (by: Bakhtawar Badal)

I am writing to draw your attention towards the alarming unemployment situation in Pakistan. According to recent statistics, the unemployment rate has surged to over 6.5%, which means more than three out of ten individuals are facing joblessness. It is disheartening to note that the problem has worsened over time, with urban unemployment rate increasing from 2% to 10.1%, and rural unemployment rate from 4.3% to 5%.

This situation is particularly concerning because it affects not only the less-educated, but also skilled and experienced professionals. The current economic crisis has made it even more challenging for job seekers, and the inflation crisis in the country is adding to their woes. This dire state of affairs is a cause for serious concern, as it has the potential to exacerbate societal problems such as drug addiction, theft, and violent crime. In fact, it has been reported that jobless people are more likely to commit suicide, with 736 individuals ending their lives due to unemployment.

While unemployment is not a new issue in Pakistan, it has now become a more pressing matter as the number of unemployed individuals continues to rise. It is therefore imperative that the government takes immediate action to address the problem. The government must undertake a thorough analysis of the issue and identify the root causes in order to devise an effective strategy to curb unemployment.

In addition to the unemployment crisis, our country is facing many other issues such as poor governance, corruption, and inadequate living standards. These issues are not only damaging the country but also taking a heavy toll on the lives of ordinary people. It is therefore crucial that the government take swift and appropriate measures to address these concerns.

I urge you to raise awareness about the unemployment crisis in Pakistan through your esteemed newspaper/ digital news service, and to encourage the government to take the necessary steps to tackle this problem.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Yours sincerely,

Bakhtawar Badal
