Dubai Hosts 175 International Business Events in 2024
Business events significantly boost Dubai’s knowledge economy and tourism. In the first half of 2024, the city won an impressive 175 bids to host events, marking a 24% increase compared to the same period last year. These events are expected to attract over 92,000 delegates, enhancing the pipeline for future business events.
Dubai’s successful bids ensure a robust event schedule through 2028, positioning the city to host major international conferences, congresses, and incentive meetings. This achievement underscores the importance of business events to the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to double Dubai’s economy by 2033 and establish it as a top global city for travel, residence, and employment.
The collaborative efforts of Al Safeer Congress Ambassadors and other industry professionals with Dubai Business Events (DBE), the official convention bureau under the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, were instrumental in securing these events. Dubai’s growing reputation as a premier business event hub has garnered international recognition, with the city named the Middle East’s top city for association meetings in 2023 by the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) and the region’s top meeting destination by Cvent.
