LEGOLAND® Dubai Resort has launched the Junior LEGO® Builder: School Challenge Edition, a first-of-its-kind inter-school competition inviting 220 schools across Dubai to take part in a creative, play-based learning experience for students aged 6 to 12.

Created to nurture the Builders of Tomorrow, the initiative empowers students to represent their schools through hands-on LEGO® building, celebrating creativity, teamwork and problem-solving through play. Fully led by LEGOLAND® Dubai Resort, the competition encourages children to step away from screens and engage in collaborative, experiential learning in a supportive, family-friendly environment.

A Two-Stage Journey from Classroom to Theme Park

The Junior LEGO® Builder: School Challenge Edition will take place across two stages, beginning in schools before culminating in a live final at LEGOLAND® Dubai Resort.

During Stage One, each participating school may nominate one team, made up of four students aged 6 to 12 and one supervising teacher. Teams are challenged to design and build their “Theme Park of the Future” using LEGO® bricks, imagining an inclusive, sustainable and technology-powered theme park filled with innovative attractions and creative experiences that families of tomorrow would love.

Schools will submit their entry online by sharing photos of the build, a short written description and a video of the final creation.

Following this, 15 teams will progress to Stage Two, an exciting live build-off hosted at LEGOLAND® Dubai Resort, where the final theme will be revealed. The live final will takeplace as part of the Resort’s 10th anniversary celebrations, offering students the opportunity to build together in a dynamic, real-world setting.

Prizes That Celebrate Creativity and Teamwork

Winning teams will be recognised with LEGO® trophies for first, second and third place, alongside a Winning Class Experience that includes a full-day visit to LEGOLAND® Dubai Resort and an exclusive LEGO® workshop with a Master Model Builder, offering students a unique behind-the-scenes insight into professional LEGO® creativity and design.

In a special legacy moment, the overall winning model will be rebuilt at scale and permanently displayed in MINILAND at LEGOLAND® Dubai Resort, celebrating the imagination of Dubai’s young builders and marking the Park’s milestone anniversary.

Building Skills for the Future

By blending creativity with collaboration, the Junior LEGO® Builder: School Challenge Edition aims to nurture essential skills including communication, critical thinking, teamwork and confidence, all through the power of play.

“Through the Junior LEGO® Builder: School Challenge Edition, we’re proud to  give students meaningful opportunities to learn through play. By encouraging children to build, experiment, and collaborate, the Challenge supports hands-on learning that helps bring classroom ideas to life in a fun, engaging way.”
– Tim Harrison-Jones, Leisure and Hospitality Director , LEGOLAND® Dubai Resort
