Hilton has announced the signing of an agreement with The Zubair Corporation to open three hotels in Muscat, marking a major expansion that will double Hilton’s footprint in Oman.

The agreement introduces three of Hilton’s most recognisable brands — Waldorf Astoria, Hilton Hotels and Resorts, and DoubleTree by Hilton — to Barr Al Jissah, an iconic luxury waterfront development on Muscat’s coastline.

The signings mark the debut of the Waldorf Astoria brand in Oman, strengthening Hilton’s presence across the region and underscoring its commitment to delivering world-class hospitality in emerging and established markets.

Hilton in Oman

Surrounded by mountains and beaches, Barr Al Jissah is a destination designed to blend beauty with premium hospitality, catering to leisure visitors, wellness seekers, families, and business travellers — all within 40 minutes of Muscat International Airport.

Carlos Khneisser, Chief Development Officer, Middle East and Africa, Hilton, said: “The debut of Waldorf Astoria in Oman, alongside the new Hilton Hotels and Resorts and DoubleTree by Hilton properties, marks a significant new chapter for Hilton in the Sultanate.

“Oman’s rich culture, heritage, and natural landscapes continue to attract discerning travellers. These new properties will enable us to meet that growing demand across both leisure and business segments – supporting Oman’s Vision 2040, which aims to attract 12m tourists annually to the Sultanate by 2040.

“Together with The Zubair Corporation, we are proud to bring this transformative destination to life and strengthen Oman’s position as a leading tourism hub.”

Heritage and innovation

Niels Bormans, Group CEO at The Zubair Corporation, said the collaboration reflects a shared long-term vision for Oman’s tourism growth.

He said: “The collaboration with Hilton reflects our shared vision for Oman’s tourism future. By combining Hilton’s global expertise with our commitment to preserving the Sultanate’s heritage and natural beauty, Barr Al Jissah stands as a world-class destination that reinforces Oman’s position as a leading tourism hub in the region; not as an aspiration, but as a reality shaped by excellence, authenticity, and global confidence.”

  • The Waldorf Astoria Muscat Al Husn: Al Husn Hotel Muscat will undergo a complete renovation before reopening as the Waldorf Astoria Muscat Al Husn — introducing the iconic brand to Oman for the first time. The property will feature 180 guest rooms and suites, five distinctive dining venues, the Waldorf Astoria Spa, and a private beach cove, offering an elevated retreat-style experience defined by timeless sophistication and signature service
  • Hilton Muscat Al Bandar: The flagship Hilton Hotels and Resorts brand will debut in Muscat with Hilton Muscat Al Bandar, scheduled to open in January 2026. The hotel will include 198 guest rooms and suites, six dining venues, a grand ballroom, multiple meeting rooms, and a dedicated spa with treatment villas, vitality pools, and relaxation areas — appealing to both business and leisure guests
  • DoubleTree by Hilton Muscat Al Waha: Also set to open in January 2026, DoubleTree by Hilton Muscat Al Waha will offer a family-friendly stay with 302 rooms and suites and four dining venues. Known for its warm hospitality, the DoubleTree brand will complement Muscat’s growing demand for accessible upscale accommodation

World-class amenities

Collectively, the three properties will feature 15 dining venues covering Asian, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, and international cuisines, as well as extensive shared leisure facilities including:

  • 600m of private beach
  • 500m lazy river
  • Six swimming pools
  • Four floodlit tennis courts
  • Health club, kids’ club, and mini-golf
  • Water sports, including snorkelling, kayaking, and water skiing
  • A dive centre offering PADI and SSI certification

Hilton currently operates three hotels across Oman: Hilton Garden Inn Muscat Al Khuwair, Hilton Salalah, and DoubleTree by Hilton Muscat Qurum.

Oman’s Vision 2040 tourism goals

The Barr Al Jissah expansion supports Oman Vision 2040, which targets 12m annual tourists and greater private-sector participation in the tourism economy.

By combining Hilton’s global network with Omani heritage and natural beauty, the new Muscat hotels reinforce the Sultanate’s growing role as a leading tourism hub for the Middle East.
