The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has introduced the Dubai Busking Experience to activate public spaces through culturally aligned, curated live performances while creating new platforms for local talent.

Taking place from 6 February to 1 March 2026, the initiative runs exclusively on weekends (Friday to Sunday) at Bluewaters Island, one of Dubai’s most vibrant waterfront destinations, known for its open-air setting, striking views and walkable public spaces. Performances are taking place in the evenings from 6:30 pm onwards and delivered in line with local cultural values, making use of the pleasant outdoor season to bring culture into everyday public spaces.

Popular in cities around the world, busking is a form of live performance, where musicians and entertainers bring their talent directly to public spaces to engage with the community in real-time.

The programme reflects DET’s ongoing commitment to enhancing cultural engagement within the city while enriching visitor and resident experiences. As a central focus of the programme, curated in collaboration with a specialist local entertainment partner, a diverse range of locally based performers is taking part.

The busking lineup features singers, saxophonists, violinists, beatboxers, DJs and live mixers, jugglers and acrobats, as well as duo and small ensemble acts, transforming the atmosphere of the seaside destination. Featured performers include Dina Stars, Jay Abo and Yousif Al Hassan.

While open to the public, audiences can support performers securely through secure cashless payments enabled by Ziina, making it effortless for artists to receive instant appreciation in public spaces.
