The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has given Careem Pay an in-principle approval (IPA) for an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license, which would allow it to offer financial services such as bill payments, and peer-to-peer (P2P) transfers, and wallet cash-outs.Careem, the ride-hailing company, has announced the creation of Careem Pay, its fintech subsidiary in Pakistan, as a separate organization with intentions to invest $50 million in the country, according to a statement.
