Scammers might be getting smarter, and this Dubai resident learned that the hard way.
A Dubai-based man recently came across what looked like a legit Instagram AD promoting concert tickets at a discount price. Sounds tempting, and surely too good to be true.
Thinking it was an official promo, he clicked through, entered his card details… and that’s where things went south
A few days later, he had to say hello to fake concert tickets and goodbye to AED6,000 from his account.
The ad was quite believably packaged with the Coca-Cola Arena branding, but with one minor difference – the Email ID was not that of Coca-Cola Arena.
“They make it look all legit but the email is wrong. I’ve checked the official Coca-Cola Arena box office email address,” he told Lovin Dubai.

With more residents reporting similar scams, Coca-Cola Arena issued a public notice reminding fans to buy tickets only through official channels — such as their verified website or trusted partners.
The victim has since reached out to the police and his bank authorities.
“The Police HQ told me it’s happened to a few people…”
So if you’re scrolling through the ‘gram and see a deal that looks too good to be true, double-check before you click.
Always verify the account handles, check official links, and never share your card details on unverified sites.
