How to build your own community on LinkedIn as a Founder and 20x your reach

Building your own community on LinkedIn as a founder and increasing your reach by 20 times within 30 days can be an ambitious goal. Here are some tips to help you achieve this:

1) Optimize Your LinkedIn Profile:  Optimize your LinkedIn profile to describe your skills and expertise better. Use relevant keywords in your headline, summary, and experience sections to improve your visibility in LinkedIn searches. Emphasize this for at least a week before starting to write content.

2) Zero down on your niche: Focus on a specific niche within your industry that aligns with your expertise and interests. This will help you attract a targeted audience and establish yourself as a thought leader in that field. For example, if you have a Fintech Startup, share tons of educative content around the same niche. Other types of content that you can share can be–Success Stories, Client Testimonials, Opinions, and Trending Stories of your industry.

3) Focus more on creating quality content: Share high-quality content that is relevant, valuable, and engaging to your target audience. This can include articles, videos, infographics, and even audio files. Use catchy headlines and visually appealing visuals to capture attention.

  • Since Quality Content = Inbound Leads; Use these 5 core components of high-quality content-
  • Write only clear-engaging content–Something that is easier for your clients to relate to and understand
  • Use a headline that matters, as the attention span of any reader is 3 seconds per content (You can write a question, or incorporate statistics as well)
  • Use proper formatting, for better division of your content
  • Add visuals if needed and use bullets
  • Be relevant and write educative content (This will help you attract investors, customers and clients as well)

4) Give LinkedIn Native Video a chance: Native video on LinkedIn tends to perform well and can help you reach a larger audience. Create short, engaging videos that provide value to your audience, such as tips, insights, and behind-the-scenes glimpses of your work. Use captions and hashtags to increase visibility.

(What to cover in videos–Invite a client to speak on a trending issue, or a customer to share their buying journey with you. Divide that video or audio well and, post them once a week at least.)

5) Engage with Your Audience: Respond to comments on your content and engage in discussions with your audience. Ask questions, solicit opinions, and encourage interactions. This will help you build relationships with your audience and increase your reach through word-of-mouth.

6) Collaborate with Others: Collaborate with influencers, experts, and thought leaders in your niche. This can involve co-creating content, cross-promoting each other’s content, or hosting joint webinars or events. Collaborations can help you tap into new audiences and expand your reach.

7) Leverage LinkedIn Groups: Join relevant LinkedIn groups related to your niche and actively participate in discussions. Share your expertise, provide value to the group members, and establish yourself as a trusted authority. Avoid spamming and self-promotion, and focus on building relationships with group members.

8) LinkedIn Polls and Surveys: LinkedIn polls and surveys are interactive features that can help you engage with your audience and collect valuable insights. Use them to ask questions related to your niche and encourage participation. Share the results and insights in your content to increase engagement and reach.

To conclude, there is nothing like consistency. You may start small, but if you are consistent, you are already there.
