Saudi Arabia has announced the completion of Six Flags Qiddiya City, with the flagship theme park set to open on 31 December as the first operational asset at the Qiddiya entertainment development.

The announcement was made during a government press conference, where Abdullah Al-Dawood, Board Member and Managing Director of Qiddiya Investment Company, confirmed that Six Flags Qiddiya City is complete, while Aquaarabia, the adjacent water park, is more than 95 per cent finished.

Six Flags Qiddiya City features record-breaking attractions, including the Falcon Roller Coaster, which has set three world records as the longest, fastest and tallest roller coaster globally. The park will offer five headline rides designed to attract thrill-seekers and position Qiddiya as a global entertainment destination.

Six Flags marks entertainment milestone

Al-Dawood said the opening of Six Flags marks the beginning of a phased rollout of approximately 70 assets planned across the Qiddiya development. Construction is already underway on several major projects, including Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium, the Performing Arts Centre, the Speed Track, Mercedes-Benz Performance World, golf courses, and a dedicated gaming and esports zone.

Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary said the completion of Six Flags Qiddiya City reflects Saudi Arabia’s broader transformation and growing international interest in the Kingdom’s entertainment sector. He noted that the Qiddiya project has generated significant global attention, with the name “Qiddiya” reaching billions of people worldwide over the course of the year.

Al-Dossary also highlighted plans for Qiddiya to host the Impact Makers Forum (ImpaQ) and the launch of the “IMPAC House in Qiddiya,” a platform aimed at bringing global influencers together to foster cross-border impact and innovation.

Six Flags Qiddiya City forms a central pillar of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy, which seeks to diversify the economy, expand tourism, and develop world-class leisure and entertainment destinations. The park’s opening is expected to boost domestic tourism and strengthen the Kingdom’s position as a regional and global entertainment hub.
