What happened on the roads?

During the 54th National Day, officers impounded 49 vehicles, 25 motorbikes, and issued 3,153 fines to motorists who were driving in unsafe or disruptive ways.
Police said a small number of drivers used the occasion to show off behind the wheel, despite earlier reminders to celebrate responsibly.

Putting safety first

Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan explained that these actions were taken to prevent potential accidents and protect residents. He highlighted that such behaviour doesn’t reflect the values of the UAE or the spirit of the celebration. And that road safety always comes first.

He also encouraged parents to keep a close eye on their children during big events and avoid behaviours like spraying pedestrians or cars with foam, as it can be unsafe and cause unnecessary issues.

Appreciation for responsible celebrations

Dubai Police praised the majority of residents who celebrated respectfully and said they will continue to ensure public safety during major occasions.

The message is simple: enjoy the celebrations, but keep the roads safe for everyone.
