A Dubai influencer, @yasminesays, has spoken out against a growing trend where people film themselves mocking taxi drivers. These videos show passengers pretending the driver “stinks,” opening windows dramatically, or sticking their heads outside the car for laughs. The influencer said this behavior is disrespectful and needs to stop.

“Where are your manners?”

In her video, she said people who hold their nose or act disgusted in the back of a taxi are insulting every hardworking driver in the city. She said there is nothing funny about making jokes about someone’s personal hygiene.

Yasmine added that she does not understand why this trend is getting attention online. She called it “vile” and urged people to think before they post.

“Imagine it was your family member”

Moreover, the influencer asked viewers to imagine if the driver being mocked was their father, brother, sister, wife, or friend. She reminded people that taxi drivers in Dubai work long hours every day to support their families.

She said people need to stay humble and reflect on their behavior. “Take a look in the mirror. Have a hard word with yourself and then come back out,” she said.

Kindness is always the better trend

Her message was simple. Kindness costs nothing. Respect should come before online views. She said if people cannot behave in a taxi, they should stay home and stop creating hurtful content.

The reminder is clear… disrespect should never be part of any trend.
