Abu Dhabi has launched a pilot project for autonomous e-commerce delivery vehicles in partnership with noon and AutoGo, marking a significant step in the emirate’s efforts to advance smart mobility and strengthen its leadership in digital transformation.
The initiative, overseen by the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council (SASC), is part of Abu Dhabi Mobility’s strategy to build an integrated, future-ready transport ecosystem.
The new pilot integrates AutoGo’s self-driving delivery vehicles into noon’s logistics network to enhance the efficiency of supplying mini-fulfilment centres across Abu Dhabi.

Supported by advanced autonomous-driving technologies, AI systems and innovative sensors, the vehicles are designed to safely navigate urban environments and deliver orders without human intervention.
The initiative signals a new phase in the development of Abu Dhabi’s logistics sector by aligning e-commerce operations with next-generation mobility solutions.
It aims to boost operational efficiency, reduce congestion and carbon emissions, and elevate customer experience.
It also supports Abu Dhabi’s wider smart-mobility strategy, which targets completing 25 per cent of all trips in the emirate through smart transport by 2040.
Dr Abdulla Hamad AlGhfeli, Acting Director General of the Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility), said: “The pilot project for autonomous delivery vehicles, undertaken in collaboration with noon, is part of Abu Dhabi’s drive to develop a smarter and more sustainable mobility system.
“It also underlines ITC’s role in enabling innovative technologies within a safe and reliable regulatory framework that advances sustainability and improves quality of life across the community.”

Faraz Khalid, CEO of noon, said: “Noon aims to redefine the future of e-commerce through innovation, and our partnership with the Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility) and AutoGo is an important step towards developing autonomous delivery solutions that improve the efficiency and sustainability of logistics services.
“This pilot not only reinforces Abu Dhabi’s position as a regional leader in smart transport and digital transformation, it also sets a new benchmark for innovation in the e-commerce sector.”
Following the project’s launch, AutoGo will continue working with noon and Abu Dhabi Mobility to expand the pilot to additional neighbourhoods and a wider range of products.
They expect to roll out full commercial operations more broadly in the near future.
