An 18-year-old Indian student, Vaishnav Krishnakumar, tragically passed away during a Diwali celebration in Dubai International Academic City on October 21.

He was enjoying the Diwali celebrations with friends

According to Gulf News, Vaishnav had joined a Diwali party organised by his friends living in a student accommodation shared by students from different universities. Surveillance footage reportedly showed him dancing with a big group, full of energy and smiles, before he took a short break to rest.

After resting for a while, he walked over to a nearby restaurant inside the same building, sat down, and suddenly collapsed. A security guard quickly noticed and called for an ambulance. Despite immediate help and being rushed to a hospital, Vaishnav was pronounced dead on arrival.

The cause of death was confirmed as cardiac arrest

Dubai Police informed the family that the forensic report confirmed he died of natural causes due to cardiac arrest… matching the hospital’s initial findings. The news shocked the family, who said Vaishnav was healthy, active, and had no known medical issues.

The family believes timely CPR could have saved him

A family member believed that Vaishnav could have survived if someone had recognised the emergency and performed CPR immediately. “We hope no other family ever goes through something like this,” they said.

Vaishnav’s passing has deeply saddened many across the community, a heartbreaking reminder that life can change in seconds, even in the middle of celebration and joy.
